Journey: Sheet Music Selections from the Original Video Game Soundtrack Alfred Music Releases Solo Piano Arrangements Arranged by Laura Intravia
So proud to announce my first published work! Alfred Music recently released a book of piano arrangements from the award-winning video game Journey, music composed by Austin Wintory. It was a great honor to be asked to work on this project, and of course I learned a ton from translating the music from Journey into solo piano works. I couldn't be happier with how it they turned out, and can't thank Austin enough for the great opportunity!
"Composer Austin Wintory's Grammy®-nominated soundtrack to the Sony Playstation video gameJourney opened higher on the Billboard album charts than any previous video game soundtrack. The album subsequently won two British Academy Awards, an Interactive Academy Award, and many more. By popular request, Alfred Music is honored to make this collection of sheet music available to pianists. These six arrangements were selected and produced in direct collaboration with composer Austin Wintory to ensure that they effectively capture the original versions. Titles: Nascence, Threshold, The Road of Trials, Final Confluence, Apotheosis, I Was Born for This."
Hope you enjoy! Happy playing! Posted 8/23/2013
Final Fantasy VI: Balance and Ruin Overclocked Remix's FFVI Album Released July 1st, 2013
Overclocked Remix has just released their enormous Final Fantasy VI: Balance and Ruin album, featuring amazing and diverse arrangements of FF6 music. So happy to have contributed flute/voice to several tracks on this album, it's always been a dream of mine to participate with an OCRemix project since I first discovered them way back in high school. I can't thank OCRemix enough for inviting me to be a part of the collaboration, I had such a wonderful time working on all of the tracks with all of the individual artists. They were all super talented and very supportive (and totally understanding of my crazy traveling schedule!) and I'm so glad they were happy with my contributions :) The tracks I collaborated on are:
1-04 Smoke and Clouds (Jeff Ball) 2-14 The Nightmare Oath (OA, Moonlapse, BardicKnowledge ft. DragonAvenger) 4-01 A Glimmer of Hope (Joshua Morse ft. Jeff Ball) 4-03 Katabasis (Forrest Powell)
And thank you to djpretzel for the incredibly nice write-up on OCRemix itself! Reviews are up for Smoke and Clouds and Katabasis.
I hope everyone enjoys the results of this huge collaborative effort!! :) Posted 7/1/2013

Time's End: Majora's Mask Remixed Theophany's LoZ: MM Album Released December 21st, 2012
"You've Met With a Terrible Fate, Haven't You?"
I am honored, excited and ecstatic to share the latest project I've worked on: Time's End, a remix album of one of my favorite games of all time, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Many critics and gamers agree that this was one of the darkest, most inventive installments of the LoZ series, featuring not only a great storyline but also a fantastic soundtrack to boot. Soon when Theophany asked me to perform some vocal tracks to this album, I was only too delighted to contribute!
Jason Gallaty (Theophany) approached me about this project very soon after the release of Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run; we both sat in on the live stream of the album on Nintendo Radio; he mentioned several projects he was working on, and emailed me later that day to ask if I would be interested in singing for a few pieces for this project. My voice ended up on three of the tracks, Terrible Fate, Lovers Mask and Time's End. All of the tracks on this album are incredible reinterpretations of a deep, dark, overall stellar game, and I can't recommend it enough for Majora fans and newbies alike!
Download link is available on Theophany's Bandcamp site. I hope you'll all check it out and support Jason and his amazing musical endeavors! Most of all--hope you enjoy! Posted 12/21/2012

Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run Shinesparkers' Metroid Fan Album Released November 17th, 2012
I am so excited to announce that I was a part of the amazing Metroid fan album Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run! This was a project that I worked on all the way back in the spring, and I am so pleased to finally get to share it with you all.
Altar of Aether I was approached by Darren Kerwin back in April to work on this amazing collaborative effort. I asked my good friend and fellow composer Jared Cowing to team up with me to create a track for the album. We were in the same year of the composition program at Ithaca College, and I was so excited to get to work with him on such an ambitious project: a choir-heavy arrangement of the Temple Grounds / Light Temple themes from Metroid Prime 2. I fleshed out the bones of the arrangement; Jared wrote the first half of the piece, I the second. We reconnected with several vocalists we knew from our days at Ithaca College and traveled all over NYC, Long Island and Connecticut to record their voices. Then it was a team effort of sequencing the orchestra, while Jared took over cutting the recorded audio and mixing the voices and eventually the final track.
Entering the Hive I also ended up helping Jared on another track he took on, late in the game; a few original themes from the Metroid series had gone unclaimed, and Jared took on the epic “Hive Totem” battle theme from Metroid Prime. He created the entire arrangement himself and sequenced most of it; I ended up doing some additional brass and percussion sequencing.
Entropic Dream Lastly, I was approached at the very end by Darren and arranger Christopher Foss, to contribute my voice to his piece “Entropic Dream.” It was a beautiful track that I instantly fell in love with, so I was delighted to sing for it.
Download the entire album here—my individual tracks are available on my Electronic Composition/Arrangements page. I hope you all enjoy the tracks I worked on: Altar of Aether, Entering the Hive, and Entropic Dream! Posted 11/27/2012

Video Game Soundtrack Debut Featured Soloist in Konami's Otomedius Excellent (XBOX 360)
BIG NEWS!!!! One of my lifelong dreams has officially come true: I've made my debut as a performer on a video game soundtrack! I will appear as a featured solo flutist in the soundtrack of the Konami side-scrolling shooter Otomedius Excellent, which will be released in Japan on April 21st, 2011 for XBOX 360. The game will be released in the United States later this year, with the soundtrack available as an additional downloadable pack through XBOX Live Arcade.
Otomedius Excellent is the latest installment in the Otomedius series, and the first game of this franchise to be released in the United States! With Metal Gear Solid composer Norihiko Hibino at the helm as lead composer, the soundtrack of this game is an international collaboration of artists all over the world from the U.S. to China to Japan. Hibino-san and I became good friends through Video Games Live, and was such a tremendous honor to get to perform for one of his projects. The track I will appear on was composed by none other Castlevania’s Michiru Yamane! American composer Justin Lassen was also involved in the soundtrack, and includes a list of all the composers for this game on his website, plus the trailer and some gameplay footage.
A big thank you to Hibino-san for inviting me to be part of such a cool project and action-packed soundtrack! Hope everyone gets the chance to check out Otomedius Excellent when it comes to the States later this year; stay tuned for an official release date! :-) Posted 3/22/2011

I have added a Blog for my personal discoveries/thoughts about my video game transcriptions! I like to write a little each week about the compositional elements of video game music; instead of posting those writings to this homepage, I have moved them to the Blog page, where I am going to start writing more in-depth articles about what I notice about the construction of the music, from a classical point of view. I learned a lot about composing from transcribing music when I was a kid, so if you're looking to delve into the basics of composition, please feel free to check out the Blog! I'd love to hear your thoughts/questions about video game music. Also feel free to drop me a line on the Contact page with requests or suggestions of music to transcribe/arrange! Posted 7/14/2010
Ithaca College - PBS News Article

It's a great honor for me to be recognized by my college, especially when I only graduated a year ago--it was a fantastic school and I miss it a great deal. I'm so happy to know that they've been keeping track of what I've been up to after graduation! Go IC! Posted 7/14/2010
Just added some recordings of my classical works to my Concert Composition page! I will be adding more in as I set up more MP3s/videos; some of the pieces were performed this year, so I'm still waiting to get my hands on those recordings. Enjoy the ones I have posted! Posted 7/8/2010
