You Were There Laura Intravia's First Single Released! May 14th, 2014
So so so excited to be sharing this :) "You Were There" from Ico has been stuck in my head ever since the first time I heard it, and I'm very happy to release it as my first official cover single!! "You Were There” is a calm, meditative song featured at the end of the imaginative action-adventure game Ico; I wanted to interpret it with a more dramatic twist. Huge, huge, huge thank-yous to Jeff Fugelsangfor creating the beautiful artwork, Gabriel Vizcarra for his awesome violin/viola performance, and Loudr for hosting it on their site!
Transfiguration Journey Piano Album Released May 1st, 2014
The Journey piano album “Transfiguration” is now available via Bandcamp and iTunes! This album is a performance of the piano book published by Alfred Music in 2013; the performance features the fantastic pianist Robert Thies, with a Laura cameo on the last song!
This was possibly the most challenging and rewarding project I've ever worked on—a huge thank you to Austin Wintory for inviting me to arrange the piano reductions! It is a tremendous gift to be given the chance to interpret such beautiful music, both on paper and in performance, and it simply would not have been possible without Austin supporting me every step of the way as I tried to tackle this deeply involved, incredibly detailed music for the piano. And of course a huge thank you to Robert, for bringing it to life with such passion and grace! The amount of color he pulls from the instrument is just amazing Arranging for piano is only half of the process, it takes a true artist to breathe life into it and make it something special :) Lastly, a thank you to my good friend Robin Lai at John Marshall Media, who has recorded me several times for video game projects, and continues to do be one of my favorite people to work with!
What an honor to work on this project with such super talented musicians...I hope everyone enjoys the album! Posted 5/1/2014
Video Games Live: Level 3 Album Released February 18th, 2014
It's here! Video Games Live recently released their third album, featuring brand new tracks from a variety of classic and newer games. This was truly an international effort; the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir did a knock-out job recording all of the pieces under the baton of VGL conductor Emmanuel Fratianni, while myself and other solo musicians recorded our parts remotely from all over the world. It was super fun to record for a few of the tracks, including Chrono Cross "Scars of Time" and the Tetris Opera, and to have my own Zelda 25th Anniversary Overture featured on the album as well. I had originally arranged and orchestrated it for VGL in 2011, it's tremendously exciting to have it appear on this album.
VGL: Level 3 is available at several sites, including Amazon, iTunes and Cdbaby. Hope everyone enjoys all of the pieces on this expansive and multi-faceted album, featuring the talents of so many great musicians! Published 3/11/2014

It's a super-cute game that I am now completely addicted to ;-) And I'm very proud to announce that composer Aubrey Hodges invited me to record a variety of live instruments to update the soundtrack. It was great fun to play flute, piccolo, recorder and penny whistle for this soundtrack, as well as the EWI for the English Horn. Can't thank Aubrey enough for having me be a part of the project, hope y'all enjoy the new music! Posted 12/17/2013

Final Fantasy VI: Balance and Ruin Overclocked Remix's FFVI Album Released July 1st, 2013
Overclocked Remix has just released their enormous Final Fantasy VI: Balance and Ruin album, featuring amazing and diverse arrangements of FF6 music. So happy to have contributed flute/voice to several tracks on this album, it's always been a dream of mine to participate with an OCRemix project since I first discovered them way back in high school. I can't thank OCRemix enough for inviting me to be a part of the collaboration, I had such a wonderful time working on all of the tracks with all of the individual artists. They were all super talented and very supportive (and totally understanding of my crazy traveling schedule!) and I'm so glad they were happy with my contributions :) The tracks I collaborated on are:
1-04 Smoke and Clouds (Jeff Ball) 2-14 The Nightmare Oath (OA, Moonlapse, BardicKnowledge ft. DragonAvenger) 4-01 A Glimmer of Hope (Joshua Morse ft. Jeff Ball) 4-03 Katabasis (Forrest Powell)
And thank you to djpretzel for the incredibly nice write-up on OCRemix itself! Reviews are up for Smoke and Clouds and Katabasis.
I hope everyone enjoys the results of this huge collaborative effort!! :) Posted 7/1/2013

Time's End: Majora's Mask Remixed Theophany's LoZ: MM Album Released December 21st, 2012
"You've Met With a Terrible Fate, Haven't You?"
I am honored, excited and ecstatic to share the latest project I've worked on: Time's End, a remix album of one of my favorite games of all time, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Many critics and gamers agree that this was one of the darkest, most inventive installments of the LoZ series, featuring not only a great storyline but also a fantastic soundtrack to boot. Soon when Theophany asked me to perform some vocal tracks to this album, I was only too delighted to contribute!
Jason Gallaty (Theophany) approached me about this project very soon after the release of Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run; we both sat in on the live stream of the album on Nintendo Radio; he mentioned several projects he was working on, and emailed me later that day to ask if I would be interested in singing for a few pieces for this project. My voice ended up on three of the tracks, Terrible Fate, Lovers Mask and Time's End. All of the tracks on this album are incredible reinterpretations of a deep, dark, overall stellar game, and I can't recommend it enough for Majora fans and newbies alike!
Download link is available on Theophany's Bandcamp site. I hope you'll all check it out and support Jason and his amazing musical endeavors! Most of all--hope you enjoy! Posted 12/21/2012

Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run Shinesparkers' Metroid Fan Album Released November 17th, 2012
I am so excited to announce that I was a part of the amazing Metroid fan album Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run! This was a project that I worked on all the way back in the spring, and I am so pleased to finally get to share it with you all.
Altar of Aether I was approached by Darren Kerwin back in April to work on this amazing collaborative effort. I asked my good friend and fellow composer Jared Cowing to team up with me to create a track for the album. We were in the same year of the composition program at Ithaca College, and I was so excited to get to work with him on such an ambitious project: a choir-heavy arrangement of the Temple Grounds / Light Temple themes from Metroid Prime 2. I fleshed out the bones of the arrangement; Jared wrote the first half of the piece, I the second. We reconnected with several vocalists we knew from our days at Ithaca College and traveled all over NYC, Long Island and Connecticut to record their voices. Then it was a team effort of sequencing the orchestra, while Jared took over cutting the recorded audio and mixing the voices and eventually the final track.
Entering the Hive I also ended up helping Jared on another track he took on, late in the game; a few original themes from the Metroid series had gone unclaimed, and Jared took on the epic “Hive Totem” battle theme from Metroid Prime. He created the entire arrangement himself and sequenced most of it; I ended up doing some additional brass and percussion sequencing.
Entropic Dream Lastly, I was approached at the very end by Darren and arranger Christopher Foss, to contribute my voice to his piece “Entropic Dream.” It was a beautiful track that I instantly fell in love with, so I was delighted to sing for it.
Download the entire album here—my individual tracks are available on my Electronic Composition/Arrangements page. I hope you all enjoy the tracks I worked on: Altar of Aether, Entering the Hive, and Entropic Dream! Posted 11/27/2012
